Multiple Product Recalls Issued in Recent Days Due to Safety Concerns
In the past few days, several product recalls have been issued across various categories due to safety concerns. In the pharmaceutical sector, Pfizer Limited has announced the recall of all distributed batches of Oxbryta 500 mg Tablets. This decision was made following emerging data from clinical trials and registry-based studies that raised safety concerns.
In the UK, other pharmaceutical companies have also initiated recalls. Kent Pharma UK is recalling a batch of phenoxymethylpenicillin 250mg/5mL oral solution due to a low phenoxymethylpenicillin assay. Additionally, Strides Pharma UK Ltd is recalling batches of Liothyronine Sodium Tablets due to an error in the patient information leaflet. Morningside Healthcare Limited has identified a packaging issue in batches of Tramadol Hydrochloride capsules, leading to a recall.
In Canada, health product recalls include the Absorbine Jr. Extra Strength Multi Use Patch, which is being recalled due to significant violations of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Another recall involves the IPANA 20% BENCOCAINE TOPICAL GEL, which may contain metal contaminants.
In the food sector, a raw milk recall in California has been expanded after tests detected more bird flu virus in the products. The Fresno producer has recalled all whole milk and cream products from stores. Additionally, the USDA has issued an alert for ‘Dino Buddies’ Holiday Chicken Nuggets due to potential contamination, and there have been recalls of cucumber products and ground beef tied to E. coli and salmonella outbreaks.
These recalls highlight the ongoing concerns about product safety and the need for consumers to stay informed about potential health risks associated with the products they use and consume.
