Nans Urges Nlc To Prioritize National Development Over Planned Strike

The National Association of Nigeria Students has appealed to the Nigeria Labour Congress to prioritize national development over its planned strike action.

In a statement issued on Monday, the NANS Senate President, Akinteye Babatunde, expressed concerns about the potential impact of the planned protest on academic activities and the overall welfare of citizens.

The NLC, led by President Joe Ajaero, had earlier announced a nationwide protest scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday to address economic hardships in the country.

The NLC’s decision to proceed with the protest followed a 14-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government to implement measures against economic hardship.

However, the NANS Senate President acknowledged the legitimate grievances of the workers while urging the NLC to explore alternative avenues to resolve disputes with the government.

The NANS emphasized the importance of collaboration between the NLC and the government for the greater good of the nation.
