Nationwide Cellular Outage Hits AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile Users in the U.S.
A significant cellular outage affecting users of AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile services across the United States has been reported. The outage, which was first noticed by customers and tracked by Downdetector, has caused widespread disruptions in cellular connections.
Reports indicate that the number of AT&T service outages surged to nearly 32,000 at its peak around 4:30 a.m. Eastern Time. Additionally, over 800 service disruptions for Verizon and T-Mobile were also noted on the platform, impacting a large number of wireless subscribers.
Several East Tennessee 911 agencies, including Jefferson County E-911 and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, have confirmed the AT&T outage, stating that customers may experience difficulties in making calls or sending text messages. Despite the cellular network troubles, emergency calls to 911 are still being routed and received.
In response to the outage, customers of AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile have resorted to platforms like Twitter and Facebook to report their connectivity issues. However, the telecommunications companies have not released any official statements regarding the disruptions.
As the outage persists, users in various states, including California, are facing challenges in accessing cellular data services. The impact of the outage on businesses and individuals relying on uninterrupted mobile connectivity is a growing concern as the situation unfolds.
Efforts to restore full cellular service are underway, although specific details on the cause of the outage or the expected resolution timeframe have not been disclosed by AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile representatives. The nationwide scope of the outage highlights the vulnerabilities of modern telecommunications infrastructure in the digital age.
