Aldi Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos Recall

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a nationwide recall for approximately 24,870 pounds of Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos sold at Aldi stores. The recall, announced on January 13, 2025, follows reports of metal contamination in the frozen product.

The affected 20-ounce packages, produced by Bestway Foods Company, bear best-by dates of “07/03/25” or “09/25/25” and include the establishment number “EST. P-40327” on the packaging. The taquitos were distributed to Aldi locations across the U.S.

The recall was initiated after two consumers reported finding metal fragments in the product. One individual sustained a dental injury while consuming the taquitos. No additional illnesses or injuries have been reported, but FSIS urges consumers to check their freezers for the recalled items.

“If you have this product, do not consume it,” the FSIS stated in its announcement. “Dispose of it immediately or return it to your local Aldi store for a full refund.”

Bestway Foods Company, the manufacturer, has advised consumers with questions to contact their quality assurance department at (818) 361-1800, extension 110. The FSIS also encourages individuals who experience adverse reactions to report them through its official channels.

This recall is limited to the Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos and does not affect other Casa Mamita products or Aldi-branded items. Label images of the recalled product are available on the FSIS website for reference.
