New Manga ‘Mojuro’ Linked to Jujutsu Kaisen Set to Debut Soon

Tokyo, Japan – Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen celebrated on Sept. 1 when issue 40 of Weekly Shonen Jump revealed the upcoming manga titled Mojuro. Gege Akutami, known for Jujutsu Kaisen, wrote the story, while Yuji Iwasaki illustrated it. Mojuro will debut on Sept. 8 in the magazine’s 41st issue.
Details about Mojuro have been sparse, but leaks that surfaced recently suggest it might be a direct sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen. The new series is rumored to follow the descendants of characters from the original story. Readers are urged to explore the manga through official channels upon its release.
Discussions around the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen have been ongoing since its conclusion. Many fans found the resolution unsatisfactory, particularly due to unresolved plot threads and loose ends. The climactic battle against the villain Sukuna spanned 44 chapters, straining the narrative resolution.
Notably, elements of the Heian period, mentioned throughout Jujutsu Kaisen, left fans expecting a more in-depth exploration of Sukuna’s backstory. Mojuro does not appear to focus on this historical period, going against some fan desires.
If Mojuro indeed connects to Jujutsu Kaisen, it presents an opportunity to enrich the universe rather than conclude existing mysteries. Akutami is known for prioritizing broad storytelling over intricate details, raising curiosity about his approach in Mojuro. New chapters can be accessed via Manga Plus and Viz Media apps.
