Newcomer Jared Lindner Shines in HBO’s “The Chair Company”
LOS ANGELES, CA — Jared Lindner, co-proprietor of Suit Man, finds himself in the spotlight after his role in HBO‘s new series, “The Chair Company.” In the show’s second episode, airing now on HBO Max, Lindner plays a quirky shirt salesman who assists protagonist Ron Trosper, portrayed by comedian Tim Robinson.
In this episode, Ron seeks to uncover clues about a faulty chair linked to Tecca, a mock manufacturer. He visits Tamblay’s menswear shop, where Lindner’s character identifies the shirt left behind by Ron’s mysterious assailant from the premiere. The exchange highlights the show’s offbeat sense of humor, with Lindner’s character humorously explaining the fabric’s wear and tear.
Jared Lindner, a first-time actor, operates Suit Man in Mount Vernon, New York, a family business founded by his father nearly two decades ago. Robinson discovered Lindner during a location scouting visit and was impressed by his authenticity. “They started to chuckle, because I’m a pretty easygoing, somewhat young guy,” Lindner shared with Variety. Shortly afterward, he received an offer for a role.
Filming took place in the same shop where Lindner works, and he notes that the production made him feel at ease despite a busy crew. He described the experience as being like sports, where a good team and manager create a motivating atmosphere. Lindner credited director Andrew DeYoung and the creative team for making him feel comfortable during his first performance.
While Lindner is not pursuing acting full-time, he expressed an openness to future roles. Despite his on-screen debut, he has not yet watched his performance on the show but is eager to see how it turned out. He said, “I hope I don’t make a fool out of myself in front of my wife.” Lindner’s appearance in this offbeat comedy emphasizes the series’ focus on casting unique, lesser-known talents to create an immersive world around its main character, Ron.
