Born and raised in Greenspond, Bragg had a strong commitment to his community and the province. He first entered politics in 2015 when he was elected as the MHA for the District of Fogo Island-Cape Freels, marking the beginning of his service to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.

He served as parliamentary secretary for the ministers of fisheries and land resources, as well as municipal affairs and environment.
