Nigel Sylvester’s New Air Jordan 1 Low Releases This Weekend

NEW YORK, NY — BMX rider and sneaker collaborator Nigel Sylvester is set to release his latest sneaker, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Better With Time,” on August 16 at 10 a.m. via Nike‘s Snkrs app. The shoe has been in development since being teased in 2022 as a friends-and-family model.
The “Better With Time” features a distinct black leather upper complete with pre-distressed details designed to emulate the wear-and-tear from Sylvester’s BMX riding. Custom branding such as “Bike Air” appears on the tongue and insole, while the shoe highlights reflective accents around the Swoosh logos.
Sylvester expressed his excitement for the release, noting, “[The new sneaker] is something that people have been asking for for years now. I’m happy that we’re finally delivering on that and get to dive back into this AJ1 story that started my journey with [Jordan Brand].”
In addition to the shoe’s unique features, its packaging showcases a weathered aesthetic, complete with subtle yellowing and simulated scuff marks.
The upcoming launch is just one highlight in a busy year for Sylvester, who launched a successful collaboration with Jordan Brand earlier this year that has been hailed as a potential sneaker of the year. Over the weekend, he also participated in a three-city Go Ride event across New York City, Miami, and Mexico City.
The retail price for the “Better With Time” sneaker is set at $165, and it will also be available at select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide. The shoe’s SKU is IB8958-001.
