Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders Start April 24, Prices Confirmed

Redmond, WA – Nintendo announced today that retail pre-orders for the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will begin on April 24, 2025. The console will launch at a price of $449.99 in the United States, while a bundle with Mario Kart World will be available for $499.99.
Both the standalone console and the bundle prices remain unchanged from initial announcements made on April 2. In addition, the pricing for physical and digital versions of Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza will also stay the same at $79.99 and $69.99, respectively. However, Nintendo has warned that prices for accessories may be adjusted due to shifting market conditions.
Nintendo expressed gratitude to consumers for their patience amid the delay in pre-orders. “We apologize for the retail pre-order delay and hope this reduces some of the uncertainty our consumers may be experiencing,” the company stated in a press release. “We share their excitement to experience Nintendo Switch 2 starting June 5, 2025.”
In Canada, pre-orders will also begin on April 24, with pricing set at $629.99 for the standalone model and $699.99 for the bundle.
Attention has turned to when pre-orders will go live on various retailers, including Best Buy, Walmart, and Target. While specific times remain unconfirmed, historical patterns suggest retailers may have different start times. The company has not ruled out the possibility of online queues during the pre-order process.
With preparations underway and the launch date approaching, Nintendo fans are encouraged to be ready as the excitement builds for the newest addition to the gaming family.
