Nollywood Mourns Legend Amaechi Muonagor as He is Laid to Rest

Nollywood icon Amaechi Muonagor has been laid to rest in his Obosi country home in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The burial ceremony was attended by family members, relatives, and members of the Nollywood community, who bid farewell to the late actor amidst tears.

Among the dignitaries present at the funeral were Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, and Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment, Dom Onyenji, who joined in mourning the passing of the iconic actor.

During the ceremony, Peter Obi expressed his condolences and lamented the loss of Amaechi Muonagor. He offered words of comfort to the bereaved family and prayed for the repose of the late actor’s soul.

Dom Onyenji reflected on the creative contributions of Amaechi Muonagor to Nollywood, describing him as a talented and influential figure within the industry. He emphasized that the Anambra State government stood in solidarity with Nollywood during this period of mourning.

Emeka Ejezie, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), also paid tribute to Amaechi Muonagor, highlighting his significant impact on the industry. He extended his condolences to the family and prayed for their strength during this difficult time.

In her remarks, Mrs. Chinyere Anyaegbunam, the state chairman of AGN, underscored the loss felt by the entire Nollywood community. She emphasized Amaechi Muonagor’s role as a mentor and father figure to many in the industry, expressing the profound impact he had on their lives.
