LOS ANGELES, Feb. 19, 2025 – Actress Olivia Munn revealed she turned down a seven-figure offer from a studio to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) following a “traumatic” experience on a film set. In an episode of Monica Lewinsky‘s podcast, “Reclaiming,” aired on Feb. 18, Munn shared details of the troubling incident, which she chose not to name.

Munn explained that she was compelled to file complaints with the studio and engage in lengthy discussions regarding her experience. “I had to file complaints with the studio, and there’s a lot of other little things that go along with it, but it got to this place where I was offered a lot of money,” she stated. “Seven figures to accept their apology and take acknowledgment of it, but it came along with an NDA.” Munn reiterated her decision to reject the NDA, stating, “I said I’m not signing an NDA, and they said I have to.”

During her discussion, Munn expressed her moral conflict during a pivotal moment in the #MeToo movement. “I just felt it was so wrong,” she explained. “This was in the beginning of #MeToo and Times Up. This was like the reckoning, the Harvey Weinstein reckoning that began it all.” She added that she feared that agreeing to sign would undermine her voice in the movement, saying, “I was afraid that my voice and speaking up would reverse any kind of validity to my voice.”

Munn also disclosed her concerns that the studio could leak details about the agreement in an attempt to diminish her credibility. After a meeting with legal advisors, the actress opted to leave without signing the NDA. “I remember feeling so proud when I walked out—so proud of myself,” she said forcefully, acknowledging that her indignation guided her decision. “I did not think about negotiating. I did not think about anything besides how disrespectful that was.”

Reflecting on her emotional process, Munn stated, “Look, was it the right thing to do and do the people in my life think that I did the right thing and are proud of me for that? Yes.” However, she also recognized the role her anger played, admitting, “I made that decision based on anger, and that is something I had to learn how to rein in and use for my benefit.”

Munn, known for her advocacy against injustices in the film industry, previously accused director Brett Ratner of sexual harassment in 2017 and revealed in 2018 that she reported 20th Century Fox about the casting of a registered sex offender in the horror film “Predators.” She expressed frustration back then, stating, “I kind of feel like I’m the one going to jail… I didn’t put this guy on our set. I had this scene deleted.”

Munn’s candid revelations on Lewinsky’s podcast mark another moment in her ongoing commitment to addressing issues of safety and respect within the entertainment industry, encouraging others to speak out regarding similar experiences.
