Trump Approval Rating Polls February 2025

Washington, D.C. – Recent polls indicate fluctuations in President Donald Trump’s net approval ratings as political dynamics shift in the lead-up to the 2024 elections. Conducted through various methodologies, these surveys reflect public sentiment about Trump’s performance in office.

The data, analyzed by CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten, shows that Trump’s approval ratings have experienced both highs and lows over the past few months. As of February 2025, his net approval rating stands at -5 percentage points, down from -2 earlier this year.

Enten noted, “While Trump has a loyal support base, many Americans are also expressing dissatisfaction with his handling of key issues such as the economy and foreign policy.” Among those surveyed, 38% approve of Trump’s overall job performance, whereas 43% disapprove, indicating a challenging political climate for the incumbent leader.

Political analysts attribute these shifts to several factors. Economic concerns, especially inflation and unemployment rates, have continued to plague the administration’s reputation. A recent report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that inflation remains above 5% annually, contributing to the growing discontent among voters.

Furthermore, Trump’s handling of foreign policy, particularly regarding relations with NATO and China, has come under scrutiny. This sentiment is evident in polls where voters expressed a desire for stronger international diplomacy. As one voter stated, “We need a leader who can navigate these complex global challenges effectively.”

Looking ahead, Trump faces an uphill battle to regain favor with the broader electorate. As the election year approaches, political strategists suggest that he will need to address these critical issues head-on to solidify his base and attract undecided voters.

With several other candidates emerging within the Republican party, Trump’s leadership position is expected to be thoroughly tested. Enten remarked, “The upcoming primaries will be a pivotal moment for Trump. His ability to resonate with voters will determine if he can maintain his status as the frontrunner.”
