Powerball Mega Millions Lottery Drawing

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — The Powerball jackpot has reached an impressive $512 million as of November 12, 2025. The cash option for winners is $239 million. The next drawing is set for tonight, and locals can catch it live on News 13 at 11 p.m.

While the Powerball jackpot continues to grow, the Mega Millions is even larger, now standing at $965 million with a cash payout of $445 million. This increase follows Tuesday’s drawing, where no one matched all six numbers.

The Mega Millions drawing will take place this Friday, and it too will be broadcasted during News 13’s 11 p.m. segment. The rising jackpots for both games have many players excited as they dream of large winnings this holiday season.

In related news, holiday charity efforts are also in full swing. On the same day, volunteers from Harris Teeter partnered with MANNA FoodBank to pack Thanksgiving meal bags for those in need in western North Carolina. This collaboration is crucial as food bank demand has surged during the ongoing federal government shutdown.

Claire Neal, CEO of MANNA, noted, “We’re seeing the largest need in our 42-year history.” On November 12, volunteers packed 1,000 meal boxes, each designed to feed a family of four, totaling 4,000 people served.

Key items included stuffing, yams, and green beans, and these bags will be distributed by local partners in the coming weeks.

Additionally, the northern lights were visible in Swannanoa, N.C., adding to the evening’s excitement. However, forecasts of a strong solar storm were less intense than expected, disappointing some viewers.
