In a significant move during the NBA offseason, the Denver Nuggets have acquired 17-year veteran Russell Westbrook and former Golden State Warrior Dario Šarić. This addition has garnered positive feedback from the team, particularly from forward Aaron Gordon. Gordon expressed his enthusiasm about the new signings, stating, “Love them. Love ’em. Love ’em. Love ’em. We got better,” in an interview with Nuggets.com.

Russell Westbrook, who spent the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, is expected to serve as the backup point guard behind Jamal Murray. During his time with the Clippers, Westbrook played in 89 total games, averaging 24 minutes and 12.2 points per game. His role with the Nuggets is anticipated to bring depth and experience to the team’s lineup.

Dario Šarić, who averaged eight points and 4.4 rebounds last season as the backup center to Kevon Looney with the Golden State Warriors, is projected to back up Nikola Jokic at center. These additions are seen as crucial steps in strengthening the Nuggets’ roster as they aim to return to the NBA Finals after their appearance in 2023.

Aaron Gordon, entering his 11th NBA season and fifth with the Nuggets, is optimistic about the team’s chances. Having won an NBA Championship with the Nuggets, Gordon is focused on helping the team achieve another successful season. The Denver Nuggets are set to open their regular season on October 24 against the Oklahoma City Thunder at home.
