Saif Ali Khan And Rahul Gandhi At India Today Conclave 2024

During the India Today Conclave 2024, actor Saif Ali Khan, noted for his roles in films such as “Dil Chahta Hai” and “Omkara,” praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for redefining his public image. Speaking at the Thursday event, Khan commented on Gandhi’s perseverance and the way he has addressed past criticisms with substantial effort.

“I think what Rahul Gandhi has done has also been very impressive,” Khan stated in the “From Mainstream to Maverick” session. “There was a point where people were disrespecting things he was saying and doing, but he has turned that around by working very hard in an interesting way.”

Khan refrained from revealing his personal political preferences, choosing instead to emphasize the vibrancy of democratic processes in India. “I am happy about one thing, that democracy is alive and thriving in India,” he commented, pointing to the recent Lok Sabha Elections 2024, where the Modi government secured a third term and the opposition INDIA bloc gained traction.

In discussing political figures he admires, Khan expressed a preference for politicians who are “brave” and “honest,” although he did not specify individuals he supports. During the event, the actor touched on various topics including his career, family background, and financial independence.

Khan, the son of Sharmila Tagore and former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, emphasized his self-reliance rather than relying on his family’s wealth. “My father told me not to depend on financial inheritance. What he promised me was a good education,” he said.

The actor also praised the Telugu film industry and discussed his upcoming film “Devara: Part 1” with Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. He mentioned Koratala Siva‘s supportive role on set, highlighting the innovation and success of Telugu cinema.

Saif Ali Khan’s remarks on Rahul Gandhi have been widely disseminated on social media, including a video shared by Congress spokesperson Shama Mohamed, who reiterated the effectiveness of Gandhi’s work in altering public perceptions.
