Samsung Begins Major One UI 7 Rollout for Galaxy Z Fold and Flip Users

San Jose, California — Samsung has officially launched the highly anticipated One UI 7 update for its Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 devices in the United States. The rollout, which began on April 10, 2025, comes after several delays and a lengthy beta testing phase that left many users eagerly waiting for the new features and upgrades.
Recent reports indicate that unlocked versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are receiving the update, which weighs approximately 5GB for new users and 1,300MB for those who participated in the beta program. This update not only introduces One UI 7 but also includes the April 2025 security patch, offering users enhanced device security alongside new functionalities.
The delays in the rollout can be traced back to the extensive beta testing phase, which saw some users waiting months for access. “The beta phase seemed to go on far too long,” said one Galaxy Z Fold 6 user participating in the beta testing. “We were anxious to see the stable version, and it’s finally here.”
As of now, the update is primarily available for users on Verizon networks, while those on T-Mobile and AT&T may experience a more extended wait due to differing update schedules. However, Samsung has confirmed that broader availability across various carriers will occur soon. In addition, One UI 7 is also rolling out in Europe for other Samsung devices today, suggesting a global strategy to reach more users quickly.
“We have kept our promise to deliver One UI 7 in April, and we’re excited to enhance the user experience on our foldable devices,” said a Samsung spokesperson. This sentiment reflects Samsung’s commitment to improving its software experience and maintaining customer satisfaction despite previous delays.
With the rollout now underway, users are encouraged to check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install on their devices. While feedback from the community has been generally favorable, the company expects a gradual distribution to prevent overwhelming users with potential bugs.
A more extensive release of One UI 7 is expected throughout the month, with specific timelines for other devices anticipated in the coming weeks. Samsung has laid out a tentative schedule for device updates, noting that Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 will receive their updates by May, followed by the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, and others in June.
For those eagerly anticipating the improvements, One UI 7 promises a host of new features, including enhanced AI capabilities, redesigned interface elements, and improved camera functionalities. Users are urged to stay connected with Samsung’s official channels for updates regarding the rollout and to provide feedback on their experiences.
