Saudi Arabia is making preparations to unveil the largest airport globally in Riyadh by the year 2030. The General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia has announced that the King Salman International Airport, presently under development, will surpass all others in size upon completion.

Spanning an expansive 57 square kilometers, this airport project comes with a staggering budget of 23 billion pounds. Reports indicate that the airport will boast six massive runways and allocate a remarkable 12 kilometers for retail spaces to enhance the shopping experience for passengers.

The renowned global architecture firm Foster + Partners is overseeing the design and construction of this monumental airport project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Anticipated to cater to 120 million passengers and potentially generate 150,000 job opportunities, the new airport signifies a significant step towards transforming Riyadh into a pivotal global logistics hub.

Integrating the existing terminals at the King Khalid International Airport with the upcoming King Salman International Airport is an essential aspect of this mega project.

This airport project aligns with the Kingdom’s vision to position Riyadh as a crucial global connection point between the East and the West. The objectives include fostering growth in transport, commerce, and tourism sectors within the country, bolstering its economy and global significance.

Furthermore, the authorities aim for the eco-friendly King Salman International Airport to accommodate over 185 million passengers and 3.5 million tons of cargo by 2050. The airport’s design incorporates sustainable practices to conserve water and electricity through cutting-edge technologies.
