Scottishpower Journey Campaign

ScottishPower, in collaboration with The Union, has initiated a new brand campaign titled ‘Journey’. This campaign aims to showcase ScottishPower’s commitment and plans towards creating a cleaner, greener, and more affordable energy future.

The demand for energy in the UK is on the rise, and the need for climate action remains crucial. ScottishPower is at the forefront, leading with a significant investment plan that focuses on improving grid infrastructure and bolstering renewable energy capacity. As the UK’s sole vertically integrated energy company, ScottishPower is guiding the transition towards green energy across the industry. From constructing renewable power sources to upgrading the electricity grid and supporting customers with sustainable technology, the company is actively involved in shaping a better energy future.

ScottishPower tasked The Union with capturing and showcasing the extensiveness of its business operations and how it contributes daily to the communities it serves. The overarching aim is to provide a cleaner, more secure, and economical energy future.

A campaign film, developed by Greenrooms, illustrates this journey through the symbol of a green electric dodgem. This represents ScottishPower’s sustainable energy efforts—from the generation of 100% green electricity to its nationwide distribution and delivery to customers’ homes. The narrative includes characters like “Gran” and “school kids” to depict the everyday impact of ScottishPower’s initiatives.

The campaign is set to launch on Monday, October 7, 2024, with an extensive media strategy crafted by Carat UK. It will feature high-profile placements across the UK, including prominent out-of-home sites in London, cinemas, social media, streaming platforms, and television.

Max MacBeth, the Head of Strategy, remarked, “ScottishPower’s uniquely holistic approach across renewable generation, electricity networks, and its customer business grants the brand credible authority within the energy industry. It is a substantial business building and delivering critical infrastructure while also serving millions of customers.”

Euan Auld, Deputy Creative Director at The Union, commented, “We chose a dodgem as a metaphor to highlight ScottishPower’s dedication to green energy and the significant journey it has undertaken. Developing a driverless dodgem was certainly challenging but rewarding, and we appreciate the bold initiative by all production partners and our client.”

Julie Keough, ScottishPower’s Brand and Reputation Director, stated, “We are at an exhilarating juncture in the energy industry journey, working ardently across our business to fulfill the UK’s Clean Power 2030 Mission. We have a proud history of pioneering clean, renewable power and connecting it to the grid while simultaneously developing compelling services for our retail customers.”
