Slack Outage Reporting Issues February 2025

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Slack, a widely used workplace messaging platform, experienced significant outages on Wednesday morning, resulting in interruptions for nearly 3,000 users attempting to connect with colleagues.

Reports of issues began surfacing at approximately 8 a.m. EST, escalating by 10:27 a.m. when Slack’s status page acknowledged problems with the platform. Users gravely reported difficulties in connecting, loading the application, and logging in, according to DownDetector, a site monitoring tech outages.

As of 11:07 a.m. EST, the number of affected users reported had reached approximately 2,798. Slack’s internal team noted ongoing investigation efforts, emphasizing that “a variety of API endpoints, sending/receiving messages, and some threads loading are also impacted.”

At 11:08 a.m., Slack communicated via its status page that their staff were actively working to restore functionality to the affected features but had also identified issues with several workflows. “Thank you for your continued patience as we continue investigating. We’ll be following up with further updates as they become available,” the platform stated.

This disruption comes at a challenging time as Slack is utilized by over 33 million professionals for workplace collaboration, which means that many businesses could face work delays as the problems persist.

The incident has raised concerns among users about their reliance on cloud-based messaging services for daily communication. Forbes has reached out to Slack for more detailed information regarding the outage. This story is developing and updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
