Spacex Falcon 9 Launch At Kennedy Space Center

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — SpaceX is set to launch its Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center on Monday evening, carrying a pair of advanced Earth observation satellites for Maxar Technologies. The launch window opens at 6:32 p.m. EST, with a planned landing of the rocket’s first-stage booster at the space center, potentially causing sonic booms across Central Florida.

The mission, part of Maxar Intelligence’s WorldView Legion program, aims to deploy next-generation satellites designed to enhance Earth observation capabilities. Built by Maxar Space Systems, these satellites will provide high-resolution imagery for various applications, including environmental monitoring and disaster response.

Residents in Brevard, Orange, Osceola, Indian River, Seminole, Volusia, Polk, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee counties have been advised they may hear one or more sonic booms as the Falcon 9’s first stage returns to Earth. SpaceX has issued a sonic boom advisory, urging locals to be prepared for the loud noise.

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, operated by Delaware North, will offer exclusive viewing opportunities for the launch. Visitors can purchase Launch Transportation Tickets to witness the event from the closest available viewing area.

This launch marks another milestone in SpaceX’s efforts to advance space technology and satellite deployment. The company continues to refine its reusable rocket technology, with the Falcon 9’s first-stage booster designed to land safely for future missions.

Channel 9 will provide live updates on the launch and landing, with streaming available on their Eyewitness News platform. For those interested in space exploration, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex offers alerts for upcoming launches and events.
