SpaceX Launches 22 Starlink Satellites in 200th Orbital Mission from Vandenberg
VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. – SpaceX successfully launched 22 Starlink satellites aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025. The liftoff occurred at 3:02 p.m. PST, marking the 200th orbital launch from the site and the 111th for SpaceX.
The mission, dubbed Starlink 11-4, utilized the Falcon 9 first stage booster B1075, which completed its 17th flight. This booster has previously supported various missions, including Transporter-11, SDA-0A for the U.S. Space Force’s Space Development Agency, SARah-2, and 13 Starlink missions. Approximately eight minutes after liftoff, the booster landed on the droneship ‘Of Course I Still Love You,’ marking its 119th landing and the 403rd booster landing overall.
SpaceX’s live webcast of the mission began five minutes before liftoff, available on the company’s website and social media platforms. Backup launch opportunities were available until 6:47 p.m. on Saturday, with additional chances starting at 2:29 p.m. on Sunday.
The launch is part of SpaceX’s ongoing efforts to expand its Starlink satellite constellation, which aims to provide global broadband internet coverage. The company has been rapidly increasing its launch cadence, with this mission representing another milestone in its reusable rocket technology.
SpaceX’s Starbase facilities in southern Texas are also preparing for another significant launch, featuring the first major upgrade to the Falcon 9 rocket since its debut in 2023. That mission is scheduled for 4 p.m. CST on Feb. 4, 2025.
