Spotify Outage Users Reporting Issues

London, UKSpotify users across the UK and US are encountering widespread playback, search, and log-in issues with the popular music streaming service. The problems began around 9:40 a.m. BST on Wednesday, impacting users in multiple regions.

More than 5,000 Spotify users have reported issues to Downdetector, a website that tracks real-time outages for online services and apps. Reports indicate that many users have been unexpectedly logged out and are unable to access their accounts, while others have noted that the homepage remains unresponsive and the search feature is malfunctioning.

Discontented users have taken to social media to voice their frustrations. One user tweeted, “Is Spotify down? I can listen to music but cannot search for anything; not even the homepage is loading up.” Another user lamented, “Spotify is down? Just logged me out just as Jessie Ware was playing.” A third user remarked, “Spotify is down for the whole world. I almost got a heart attack thinking it was just me.”

As of now, Spotify has not issued an official comment regarding the outage. However, the Spotify support account on X (formerly Twitter) has been advising users to delete and reinstall the app, which appears to be an automated response.

This isn’t the first time Spotify has faced extensive service disruptions. The last major outage occurred in September 2022, when over 40,000 users reported issues with streaming, playlists, and playback. That incident took approximately three hours to resolve, but Spotify did not provide an explanation for the cause of the outage.

Prior to that, in April 2023, the service experienced another significant outage, during which many users reported disruptions in various functionalities, including its compatibility with connected speakers like Sonos.
