Sprouts Farmers Market St. Johns County

A new Sprouts Farmers Market grocery store is set to open in St. Johns County, Florida. The county has issued a permit as of September 24th for Creative Sign Designs of Tampa to install store signage, at a cost of $14,238.

The upcoming 23,975-square-foot store will be located at the Shoppes of St. Johns Parkway, on 120 Shops Blvd., near County Road 210, occupying a space that was previously filled by Earth Fare, a natural foods grocer that closed in 2022. According to the Sprouts Farmers Market website, this will be the chain’s 388th store in the United States, the third in Northeast Florida, and the first in St. Johns County.

The two other Jacksonville Sprouts locations are situated at 4873 Town Center Parkway and 12675 Beach Blvd., Suite 200. The overall project cost for the new store is projected to be $1.1 million. Charlotte, North Carolina-based Little Diversified Architectural Consulting has been named the architect, with J. Raymond Construction Corp. from Longwood appointed as the contractor.

The new Sprouts store is expected to employ more than 100 individuals, with positions available for department managers, cashiers, and courtesy clerks. Among the retail tenants at the Shoppes of St. Johns Parkway are popular establishments such as Canopy Road Cafe, Xtreme Wings, Ember & Iron, and Hot Spot Power Yoga.

Sprouts was established in 2002 and opened its inaugural store in Chandler, Arizona. The company has gained a reputation for its focus on offering farm-fresh produce and health-focused grocery items.

The Food and Drug Administration provides definitions for “natural” and “organic” food labels. “Natural” foods must not include anything artificial or synthetic where such components are not normally expected. Organic foods, on the other hand, must comply with federal regulations regarding soil management, animal welfare, pest control, and additives, as articulated by the FDA.
