Star Wars Outlaws Ditches Forced Stealth, Introduces Significant Game Changes
In a significant move to enhance player experience, Ubisoft‘s Star Wars Outlaws is removing the ‘forced stealth’ mechanic from the game. This change, announced by the new creative director Drew Rechner, is part of the major title update 1.4.0, set to go live on November 21, the same day the game will be available on Steam.
The decision to drop forced stealth comes after feedback from players who found the stealth requirements frustrating and unfair. Previously, missions that required players to avoid detection could lead to resets if the player was caught, which was often seen as unpredictable and inconsistent. Now, players will have the freedom to choose how they approach each mission, whether it be through stealth, combat, or a combination of both.
In addition to the stealth changes, the update will also include significant reworks to the game’s combat and controls. Players will now be able to enter syndicate districts through various means, including peaceful entry if they have a good reputation, sneaking in, or using combat.
The update is part of Ubisoft’s broader effort to make Star Wars Outlaws a more enjoyable and flexible gaming experience. This includes new story-based DLC, such as the ‘Wild Card‘ story pack, which introduces a high-stakes Sabacc tournament with Lando Calrissian and new Contract missions to build player reputations.
