Mid South Weather Forecast Rain Storms

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Showers and thunderstorms are expected to roll through the Mid-South this weekend, with a significant chance for strong to severe storms, particularly on Friday night.

The National Weather Service forecasts an 80% chance of rain today, with high temperatures reaching near 80 degrees. The weather is anticipated to remain cloudy and mild, with winds at about 10 mph.

“We are currently monitoring the storm systems closely,” said a meteorologist from FOX13 Memphis. “While the severe threat is low for this afternoon, there is potential for stronger storms tonight.”

Looking ahead, the rainy weather is set to continue into Saturday, with temperatures remaining in the mid to upper 70s. Flooding risks are heightened as much of mid-Missouri is under a flood watch through Sunday night, according to local weather reports.

The temperature will stay mild overnight, dipping into the lower 50s, while a low-pressure system is anticipated to bring additional rainfall. Meteorologists expect that total rainfall amounts could range from 2 to 4 inches.

“Saturday will see ongoing showers, especially in the morning,” the meteorologist added. “Easter Sunday is also likely to be affected by the wet weather, so residents are advised to stay updated on the forecasts.”

As the storm systems move out early next week, temperatures are expected to rise, inching closer to seasonal highs. Rain chances will taper off as the week progresses, but scattered storms may still be possible.
