Tech Giants Clash As Meta Ceo Reviews Apple Vision Pro And Meta Quest 3

Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, recently took to Instagram to provide an in-depth review of the new competitor to Meta’s Quest 3 – the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset.

In the review video, Zuckerberg shared his perspective on the two headsets, emphasizing that he considers the Meta Quest 3 to be the superior product compared to the Apple Vision Pro.

Zuckerberg highlighted that the Quest 3, priced at $500, offers a better value proposition for most users when compared to the significantly more expensive Vision Pro, starting at $3,500.

The Meta Quest 3 is a wireless headset with handheld controllers, advertised as ideal for immersive gaming experiences. Meta also offers a more advanced option, the Meta Quest Pro.

On the other hand, the Apple Vision Pro boasts a sleek design resembling ski goggles, with hand and eye gesture controls and a 4K resolution screen. Reviewers have praised its visual capabilities, particularly for immersive videos and movies.

Both Meta and Apple are vying for dominance in the mixed reality space, viewing it as the future of computing, although with slightly different visions. Meta envisions a digital world known as the ‘metaverse,’ while Apple sees its device as an augmentation of real-world experiences, akin to the iPhone’s impact.

Despite the limited current consumer interest in these bulky headsets, Meta and Apple are keen on establishing their positions as leaders in the mixed reality realm.

Zuckerberg’s video review also shed light on the ongoing competition between the two tech giants, Apple and Meta, as they transcend beyond just the headset market, having previously disagreed on various tech fronts, including data privacy and app store policies.

While acknowledging some strong points of the Vision Pro, such as its higher resolution screen and eye-tracking capabilities, Zuckerberg underscored Meta’s commitment to an open model approach, contrasting with Apple’s more closed ecosystem.

Overall, as the rivalry persists between Meta’s Quest 3 and Apple’s Vision Pro, users are witnessing a tech showdown of monumental proportions shaping the future of mixed reality experiences.
