Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Pushes for Development Allocations in Meeting with PM Modi and Amit Shah
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, where he emphasized the state’s development and infrastructure needs. Reddy put forward several requests during the meetings to address key concerns.
One of the main requests made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was the allocation of specific coal blocks to the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) to meet the energy demands of Telangana. He highlighted the importance of allocating the Koyagudem and Sattupalli Block 3 mines to SCCL while removing the Sravanapalli coal block from the auction list.
Revanth Reddy also brought up the need to revive the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in Hyderabad, originally sanctioned in 2010, to boost the IT infrastructure in the region. Additionally, he urged the establishment of an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Hyderabad for educational advancement.
The Chief Minister further requested a significant allocation of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for Telangana, aiming to address housing needs in the state. Reddy also sought the release of funds under the Backward Regions Grant Fund and emphasized the importance of developing state highways into national highways.
During the meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah, Revanth Reddy focused on security concerns in Telangana. He sought additional resources and funds for security departments, including the modernization of the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau and Telangana Cyber Security Bureau. The Chief Minister also pushed for a review of the IPS cadre in the state.
Revanth Reddy highlighted the need for effective security measures, especially in regions susceptible to left-wing extremism. He proposed the establishment of special security forces and camps in specific districts to enhance the state’s security infrastructure.
