Texas Tech Set for Sold-Out Homecoming Game Against Baylor
Texas Tech University is gearing up for its highly anticipated Homecoming game against Baylor, scheduled for Saturday at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Texas. The matchup is set to kick off at 3 p.m., with fans encouraged to wear red to support the Red Raiders.
A sold-out crowd is expected for the third time this season, with the primary ticket inventory already exhausted. Fans still seeking tickets are advised to purchase through SeatGeek, the official secondary ticket provider for Texas Tech Athletics. Tickets purchased through unauthorized sources may not be valid, and the Texas Tech Athletics Ticket Office will not assist with counterfeit tickets. Ticket verification services will be available at a box office on game day.
In an effort to streamline stadium entry, Texas Tech has rolled out a “tap and go” mobile ticketing system, eliminating the need for QR code scanning. Fans can now simply place their downloaded mobile tickets near scanners for contactless entry. Screenshots of tickets are no longer accepted to prevent fraud.
Three new gates have been introduced at the stadium, located in the new South End Zone Building. This expansion is part of ongoing improvements to enhance fan experience with easier access to the entire stadium.
The game will be nationally broadcast on ESPN2, with Beth Mowins, Rod Gilmore, and Lauren Sisler covering the event. It will also be streamable on smart TVs and mobile devices via the ESPN app.
Highlighting pregame festivities, a flyover featuring four T-38 aircraft from Sheppard Air Force Base is planned, weather permitting. The flyover will showcase two Texas Tech alumni.
For student attendees, 5,000 koozies with “West Texas Tough” printed on them will be distributed at the student gate, which opens two hours before the game.
Raider Alley, a popular pregame venue on campus, will open four hours prior to kickoff with entertainment and activities. This week’s musical act, The Ataris, will perform at 1 p.m.
The iconic Raider Walk will also take place, allowing fans to greet the Texas Tech players as they make their way into Jones AT&T Stadium.
Digital game programs are available online, providing rosters and stats for both teams. Fans can access the program through the TexasTech.com website.
Among the operational logistics, Texas Tech has reopened Sixth Street for pedestrian access near the South End Zone Building. In addition, the R-13 and Merket Alumni Center parking lots will be unavailable due to a university event.
Concessions have expanded with the introduction of Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Chicken and new self-serve marketplaces within the stadium. Fans can now take advantage of StadiumDrop for easier concession purchases via the Texas Tech mobile app.
Jones AT&T Stadium remains a cashless venue, accepting payments by card or contactless methods only. Citibus will offer shuttle services to fans from designated locations, with ticket purchases via the “Go Pass” app.
Fans are reminded of the stadium’s clear bag policy, allowing only specified sizes and types of bags. Medical exceptions will be accommodated following security checks.
As a procedural note, re-entry into the stadium will not be allowed, requiring a new ticket for re-admittance.
