Tish Cyrus Opens Up About Divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus and Journey to Self-Discovery
Tish Cyrus, the mother of singer Miley Cyrus, has recently shared her thoughts and experiences regarding her divorce from her ex-husband Billy Ray Cyrus. Tish and her daughter Brandi appeared on the podcast ‘Call Her Daddy‘ to discuss this chapter of their lives. Tish revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic helped her reflect on her life while dealing with personal tragedies.
Tish explained that her relationship with Billy Ray had been strained for a long time and she stayed with him out of fear of being alone. However, the pandemic gave her an opportunity to breathe and focus on her own well-being. Tish mentioned enjoying activities like smoking pot, gardening, and even going skinny dipping in her pool, which she found transformative.
Unfortunately, during this time of self-discovery, Tish had to cope with the loss of her mother, Loretta Finley. She admitted that being alone with her grief was a challenging experience. Tish confessed to having a psychological breakdown for about a month, as her two biggest fears in life were being alone and losing her mother. The weight of these events added to the pain of her impending divorce from Billy Ray.
Tish and Billy Ray had faced the possibility of divorce before, once in 2010 and another time in 2013, before finally finalizing their divorce in 2022. Tish mentioned that she initially wanted to wait for their youngest daughter, Noah Cyrus, to be older before leaving Billy Ray. In hindsight, she believed it would have been better for Noah if she had left earlier.
Despite the difficulties she faced, Tish has found love again with her husband, the actor from ‘Prison Break.’ They recently got married in a beautiful ceremony held in Malibu. Tish’s journey to self-discovery and the challenges she faced along the way serve as a reminder of the complexities of relationships and the importance of prioritizing one’s own well-being.
