Tow Truck Mistakenly Drives off Cliff, Temporarily Closes Highway 193
A Tow Pro flatbed tow truck met with an unexpected incident early Thursday morning that led to a temporary closure of Highway 193 near Rock Creek Road, after it veered off the cliff unexpectedly.
The driver of the Tow Pro truck, identified as Batraz, found himself driving down a canyon off Highway 193 at around 1 a.m., while towing a Ford F350 truck. He was promptly taken to Marshall Hospital for treatment following the incident.
The situation caused a major response, with California Highway Patrol officers on the scene, needing to call in towing professionals from A.C. Towing and Transport to safely retrieve the stranded tow trucks.
Due to the complexity and risks involved, the rescue operation required daylight hours, leading to a closure of the highway segment for approximately four hours, impacting traffic in the area.
