Trinamool Congress Leader Mukul Roy in Critical Condition After Bathroom Fall

Senior Trinamool Congress leader, Mukul Roy, is currently in critical condition following a fall in his bathroom at his residence. The news was confirmed by an official statement from the hospital, indicating that Roy’s health is critical but stable, with medical staff closely monitoring him.

Roy, a key figure in the Trinamool Congress and a former Minister, was rushed to a hospital in Kolkata after the fall, which resulted in unconsciousness. According to his son, Subhrangshu Roy, the incident led to head injuries and loss of consciousness, with Roy also vomiting before collapsing.

Having played a significant role in the TMC as one of its founding members, Mukul Roy’s political journey has seen him switch allegiances, including a stint with the BJP where he won the Krishnanagar Uttar seat in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections. However, Roy returned to the Trinamool Congress in July 2023, marking a return to his political roots.

As per reports from PTI, the hospital where Mukul Roy is currently admitted has cited his health condition as critical, underscoring the seriousness of the situation. With a history of dementia, Roy’s health complications have heightened concerns among his family and political associates.
