True Crime Podcaster Ashley Flowers Signs Deal with Tubi Media Group
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — True crime podcaster Ashley Flowers and her company, Audiochuck, have made a significant move by signing a multi-year agreement with the Tubi Media Group, a subsidiary of Fox Corporation. This deal covers exclusive distribution and advertising rights for popular shows like ‘Crime Junkie,’ which ranks as the second most popular podcast in the United States, along with other series such as ‘The Deck’ and ‘Park Predators.’
Flowers, who is also the founder and chief creative officer of Audiochuck, expressed excitement about the partnership. “This first of its kind partnership represents the next evolution of what independent media can achieve,” she said. “By joining forces with Tubi, we’re not just expanding our reach, we’re redefining how true crime stories are experienced across audio and video.”
The agreement also includes the launch of a dedicated ‘Crime Junkie’ FAST channel to be distributed across Tubi, Fox One, and third-party platforms. Tubi Media Group’s CEO Paul Cheesbrough praised the collaboration, highlighting Audiochuck’s dedication to meaningful storytelling.
This move positions ‘Crime Junkie’ for greater success in video, an increasingly popular medium. In February, Audiochuck received a $40 million investment to expand its operations. The deal marks Tubi’s first major step into the podcasting arena, as it takes over ad sales for Audiochuck’s portfolio from SiriusXM, which Flowers previously partnered with.
The exit from SiriusXM is being portrayed as a mutual decision, with both parties failing to reach new terms. SiriusXM president Scott Greenstein noted that they evaluate shows based on download metrics and audience growth.
Flowers launched ‘Crime Junkie’ in 2017 with the mission to provide researched storytelling. The team comprises over 20 full-time staff dedicated to analyzing numerous cases, and Audiochuck has reported on nearly 1,000 cases to date. Flowers also founded Season of Justice, a nonprofit aiding cold case investigations.
Additionally, Audiochuck is set to release a new podcast titled ‘Chameleon,’ premiering on November 13, which focuses on individuals who pose as someone else. This upcoming series is a continuation of Audiochuck’s expansive reach in the true crime genre.
