Trump Reveals New F-47 Stealth Jet Amid Musk Visit Controversy

WASHINGTON, March 21, 2025 — U.S. President Donald Trump announced a $20 billion contract with Boeing for the development of the F-47, a next-generation stealth fighter jet, during a press briefing today. This announcement coincides with Tesla CEO Elon Musk‘s controversial visit to the Pentagon.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth clarified that Musk’s visit was solely to discuss governmental efficiencies, denying rumors that the billionaire was briefed on military plans regarding a potential conflict with China. Musk’s credibility was defended by Hegseth as he remarked, “Elon Musk is a patriot. He provides a lot of capabilities our government and our military rely on.”
Questions arose when reports surfaced that Musk, who has business ties with China, might see top-secret military strategies. Hegseth termed these reports as baseless and designed to “undermine” the relationship between the Pentagon and Musk. “There were no war plans or secret plans discussed during the meeting,” he insisted.
In the Oval Office, Trump emphasized the significance of the F-47 program, boasting it would be the “most advanced, most capable, most lethal aircraft ever built.” He stated the experimental version of the jet has been operational in secrecy for five years, claiming its stealth technology was unmatched globally.
“This plane flies with drones, as many drones as you want,” Trump noted, highlighting the aircraft’s next-level technological potential. He did not disclose additional details, citing national security. The F-47 is expected to replace the F-22 and work alongside autonomous drones in future combat scenarios.
Moreover, Trump has drawn attention with a recent assertion that he will introduce “reciprocal” tariffs on international trade beginning April 2, dubbed “Liberation Day.” This policy aims at imposing tariffs equivalent to those placed by other nations on U.S. goods, removing existing exemptions for Canada and Mexico.
Despite the excitement surrounding these developments, Trump acknowledged concerns about possible exceptions to these tariffs. “There will be some flexibility,” he stated, indicating that the situation could evolve based on discussions with various stakeholders.
As tensions mount on trade and defense fronts, the implications of these announcements will shape the geopolitical landscape and military capabilities of the United States moving forward.
