Salmonella Dog Food Recall

WISCONSIN, USA – Two American pet food companies, Foodynamics and Raw Bistro Pet Fare, announced recalls for several pet food products due to potential salmonella contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The recalls affect products sold in multiple states, including Wisconsin, New York, Florida, California, Colorado, and Illinois.

The recall for Foodynamics includes specific lots of freeze-dried pet treats under the brands Raw Dog Barkery, BellePepper Cats, Kanu Pets, and What’s In the Bowl. These products were shipped to retailers in Wisconsin, New York, and Florida. The recall was prompted after FDA testing detected salmonella bacteria.

Raw Bistro is recalling its frozen beef dog food products, specifically the “Raw Bistro Dog Fare Grass-Fed Beef Entrée” in both 3-pound bags and 18-pound bulk cases. Both items carry a best-by date of Aug. 27, 2026, and were shipped to customers and distributors in California, Colorado, Illinois, and Minnesota.

Salmonella can cause serious health issues in humans and pets. Symptoms in people include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. In pets, signs may consist of lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea (possibly bloody), decreased appetite, and fever.

No illnesses have been reported related to these recalls as of yet, but the FDA recommends consumers dispose of any recalled products immediately. Pet owners are encouraged to thoroughly wash all surfaces, bowls, and utensils that may have been in contact with the affected food.

Foodynamics has halted production and is collaborating with the FDA to investigate the source of contamination. For more information, consumers can reach out to Foodynamics at [email protected] or call 262-421-5339 during business hours.
