Two Telugu Desam Party MPs Set to Join NDA Government as Union Ministers
Two members of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are soon to be inducted into the NDA government as Union ministers. Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu from Srikakulam and Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani are poised to take their oaths of office in the evening.
Ram Mohan Naidu, a three-time MP from Srikakulam, has secured a Cabinet minister position, while Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, a first-time MP, will be sworn in as a minister of state.
Ram Mohan Naidu’s election victory in the North Andhra Pradesh constituency of Srikakulam marked his third consecutive win, defeating YSRCP‘s candidate by a significant margin of 3.2 lakh votes. He boasts an educational background from Purdue University and Long Island and was working in Singapore before entering politics.
He ventured into politics following the tragic passing of his father, the late K Yerran Naidu, a prominent TDP figure, who served as a Union minister. Ram Mohan Naidu’s active role in the TDP, holding positions like national general secretary and floor leader in the Lok Sabha, has solidified his place in the party.
On the other hand, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, an NRI medical doctor, emerged victorious on his debut political outing, securing a seat against YSRCP’s candidate by garnering 3.4 lakh votes. His family’s extensive wealth, valued at over Rs 5,785 crore, underscores his stature among the candidates.
Dr. Chandra Sekhar’s roots in Tenali‘s Burripalem village tie him closely to the TDP, with his constituency of Amaravati, where the state’s capital development plans are anchored, falling under his jurisdiction. His medical qualifications include degrees from Dr NTR University of Health Sciences and Geisinger Medical Centre.
