Two Vehicle Crashes in Missouri Result in Injuries Despite Seat Belts

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Missouri — The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported two vehicle crashes that occurred within days of each other in late November 2025.

The first incident happened at 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, on Highway 3, approximately two miles north of Mount Airy. A 1990 Ford F-150, traveling northbound, went off the roadway and collided with a bridge. The driver, a 26-year-old man from Clark, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver was taken to University Hospital in Columbia by the Randolph County Ambulance District. The vehicle was later towed by Palmatory’s. Master Sergeant Easley, along with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department and the Westran Rural Fire Department, provided assistance at the scene.

Another crash occurred just days later at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, on Highway 63, about three miles north of Kirksville in Adair County. In this collision, a 2020 Ford Expedition slowed down for stopped traffic but was struck from behind by a 2024 Hyundai Elantra.

The driver of the Elantra, an 18-year-old man from Warrenton, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Northeast Regional Medical Center. He was wearing a seat belt during the crash. The Ford Expedition, driven by a 40-year-old man from Lancaster, was able to be driven away without injury as he was also wearing a seat belt.

Both drivers received assistance at the scene from the Adair County Sheriff’s Department and the Adair County Ambulance. The Hyundai Elantra was towed from the site of the crash.
