Updates On Injuries After Rameshwaram Cafe Blast In Bengaluru

After the unfortunate blast at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru on Friday, reports indicate potential impending eye loss for one individual among the nine injured. Among those injured, three have been discharged from the hospital.

Nagashree, 35, who was present at the cafe during the time of the blast, suffered severe retinal damage, raising concerns about her eyesight. Kalpana from the Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre stated that the extent of the damage may result in permanent vision loss, and medical professionals are working diligently to address this concern.

Another doctor highlighted that two individuals, Srinivas and Mohan, have been released after recovering from burn injuries. Two additional patients are also expected to be discharged shortly after being kept for observation.

One discharged individual, Deepanshu, 23, shared his experience at Brookfield Hospital where he was admitted post-explosion. He was at the cafe for lunch, and upon hearing the blast, he lost consciousness. Recovering from a ruptured eardrum and a blood clot in the other ear, Deepanshu sought psychiatric consultation to address his initial shock and hearing concerns.

Pradeep Kumar, the Medical Director at Brookfield Hospital, confirmed that Deepanshu’s recovery was successful, as he was treated for his physical injuries and the emotional strain from the ordeal.

Shyam Sundar H., the spouse of Swarnamba, 44, expressed a desire for compensation from the government for the victims of the incident. Swarnamba, along with colleagues from an MNC, were injured in the blast while having lunch at the restaurant.
