Uruguay National Football Team Vs Dominican Republic

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — The Uruguay national football team is set to face the Dominican Republic in a FIFA friendly match on Friday, October 10, at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil. Kick-off is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. in Uruguay, 7:45 a.m. in Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador, and 8:45 a.m. in Venezuela, Bolivia, and Miami.

Under the guidance of coach Marcelo Bielsa, the Uruguayan team, known as La Celeste, will feature several new players, as many usual starters have been left off the roster. Notable absences include Federico Valverde and Sergio Rochet, who are key players for the team.

Bielsa expressed excitement about playing in Malaysia, stating, “I’m very happy to play in a stadium and a country like this. The Dominican Republic has some highlighted players, many playing in important leagues, which means we will face a capable opponent.”

The Dominican Republic, coached by Marcelo Neveleff, has shown significant progress, recently renewing Neveleff’s contract through the 2030 World Cup cycle. Under his leadership, the team reached the A League of the Nations League and secured a place in the 2025 Gold Cup.

The friendly match will be accessible via various cable channels including Montecable, TCC, Nuevo Siglo, Multiseñal, and Flow, as well as streaming platforms AUFTV, AntelTV, DGO, Flow, NSNOW, and Montecable GO. However, the match will not be broadcasted on local channels.

The lineup for Uruguay includes Franco Israel, José Luis Rodríguez, Nicolás Marichal, and Santiago Bueno among others, while the Dominican side features players like Xavier Valdez and Dorny Romero. This encounter marks a crucial opportunity for newcomers to gain experience with the national team ahead of future competitions.
