USPS Launches Informed Delivery App Amid Price Changes for Holiday Shipping

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States Postal Service (USPS) has launched its new Informed Delivery Mobile app, providing customers with a way to manage their mail and packages digitally. This free service allows users to preview incoming letter-size mail and manage package deliveries anytime, anywhere.
The launch of the app aligns with USPS’s multiyear initiative, “Delivering for America,” aimed at addressing financial challenges and enhancing customer convenience. “We are implementing a 10-year transformation plan to modernize the postal network and improve service across all categories of mail and shipping,” said USPS officials in a news release.
New features in the Informed Delivery app include email notifications and convenient management tools. In addition, the USPS is modernizing post office lobbies nationwide to enhance customer experience. Tracy Raymond, director of retail operations at USPS, stated, “Modernizing our retail spaces is about meeting customers where they are today.”
Customers can download the Informed Delivery app from the Apple App Store and Google Play. This upgrade is part of a broader strategy to increase delivery speeds and reliability while maintaining the Postal Service’s reputation as a trusted brand.
In tandem with the launch, USPS announced price increases for several package services during the upcoming holiday shipping season. Starting on October 5, prices for services such as Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express will rise to help cover additional handling costs during peak season. The increases will remain in effect until January 18, 2026.
The agency has recommended shipping deadlines to ensure timely delivery by Christmas, including December 17 for Ground Advantage and December 20 for Priority Mail Express. As USPS navigates these changes, it remains committed to offering affordable, reliable service to nearly 169 million addresses nationwide.
