This year, Victoria Day falls on Monday, May 20, in Ontario.

Victoria Day is celebrated across Ontario, with cities like Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Halton Region, Toronto, Oakville, Milton, Burlington, Oshawa, Whitby, Pickering, Clarington, and Niagara Falls taking part in the festivities.

On Victoria Day, many businesses and government offices will be closed, including LCBO, Beer Store, banks, libraries, and federal, provincial, and municipal offices.

For those in Mississauga, key closures include the Square One mall, government offices, and City Hall. However, certain amenities like Celebration Square and some retail outlets will be open for residents.

In Brampton, residents will find that places like Bramalea City Centre, libraries, and the Brampton Animal Shelter will be closed. Brampton Transit will also operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

Halton Region will see closures at municipal buildings, libraries, LCBO locations, and the waste management site. However, parks, conservation areas, and some grocery stores will be open for residents to enjoy.

Hamilton will host a fireworks celebration at Dundas Driving Park on Victoria Day. In the city, places like the Gage Park Tropical Greenhouse and the Hamilton Civic Museums will be closed. Transit services will also operate on a reduced schedule.

In Toronto, while essential services will continue to run, many major attractions and shopping centers will be closed for the holiday. Fireworks display will take place at Ashbridges Bay for those looking to enjoy the evening.

Overall, residents in southern Ontario have a range of options for celebrating Victoria Day, whether it’s exploring tourism in Niagara Falls, shopping at Canada One, or enjoying fireworks displays in various cities.
