Telecommunications giant Vodafone is currently investigating a widespread outage affecting voice calls for customers nationwide in Australia. Since the early hours of Tuesday, the company has been inundated with reports of issues with customers being unable to make or receive calls across the country.

Customers took to social media platforms to vent their frustrations, highlighting difficulties in contacting other Vodafone users or receiving incoming calls. Reports indicated a range of issues, from calls diverting directly to voicemail to being unable to connect with specific carriers.

One user mentioned the challenge of reaching Vodafone customers in the Sydney CBD, while another noted the inability to both make and receive calls or text messages. The situation appeared to be varied, with some users experiencing partial service disruptions.

According to the Downdetector platform, major impacted locations included Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, North Melbourne, Gold Coast, and Canberra. The map showed clusters of reported problems in these regions, indicating a widespread issue affecting a significant customer base.

A spokesperson from Vodafone acknowledged the problem, stating that technical teams were actively working on resolving the voice call interruption as swiftly as possible. The company apologized for the inconvenience caused and assured customers that services such as text messages, data, and emergency calls to Triple Zero were operating normally.
