Weather Alert: Rain Expected Monday Disrupting Commute in North Georgia

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A First Alert Weather Day has been declared for Monday as morning showers are anticipated to impact the commute for many in north Georgia. The weather system is expected to bring scattered showers and isolated storms due to a cold front moving through the state.
The National Weather Service predicts a low temperature of 58°F, which is above the normal low of 47°F for this time of year. Rain chances are set at 40% during the morning hours. This precipitation is likely to cause delays as residents travel to work.
“The rain is expected to roll in early Monday, potentially affecting the morning drive. However, most of the rain should clear out by late morning, giving way to drier conditions in the afternoon,” said a meteorologist at Atlanta News First.
While no severe weather is anticipated, motorists should remain cautious, as lightning may accompany the showers. After the rainfall subsides, the remainder of the week is forecasted to be pleasantly dry, with plenty of sunshine expected.
The temperatures are projected to remain comfortable, ranging in the 70s. By the end of the week and into the next weekend, north Georgians can expect warmer air, with highs reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s. A slight risk of rain may return on Sunday evening.
“Next week looks to be great overall, with sunshine and mild temperatures making a comeback after Monday’s rain,” the meteorologist added.
Residents are encouraged to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts as the situation evolves and to prepare accordingly for Monday’s morning commute.
