WWE’s Braun Strowman Eyes Iconic Jason Voorhees Role

LOS ANGELES, CA — Former WWE superstar Adam Scherr, known as Braun Strowman, has expressed interest in taking on the role of Jason Voorhees in an upcoming revival of the ‘Friday the 13th‘ film series. In a recent interview at the premiere of ‘Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon,’ Scherr revealed that he would love to portray the iconic slasher.
When asked about which horror franchise he would like to join, Scherr said, “Oh, Friday the 13th. Jason.” He added that he would even be willing to shave his notable beard for the role, stating, “I’ll gladly shave this beard off to play that character.”
Scherr hinted that discussions about his potential casting might already be in the works. “There may be some talks about it with people that I know and my agency,” he explained. “If we could ever get everybody to get back on the same page and allow the things to work, I might be the next Voorhees.”
The beloved ‘Friday the 13th’ franchise is experiencing a resurgence with various projects being developed, including short films and a prequel series titled ‘Crystal Lake,’ produced by A24 and Peacock. A recent short film titled ‘Sweet Revenge‘ has already premiered on the Jason Universe YouTube channel.
Scherr, a two-time champion in WWE, has built a reputation as a formidable presence in the ring. Fans speculated that his imposing stature could bring a fresh and terrifying portrayal of Jason Voorhees to the screen. The revival movie remains shrouded in secrecy, with no official details publicly available yet.
As Scherr forges ahead with his acting career while appearing as a security guard in ‘Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon,’ horror fans await news on whether he will step into the shoes of one of cinema’s most notorious killers.
