Zach Bryan Instagram Apology

Country music artist Zach Bryan recently deactivated his social media account on X following backlash for a tweet deemed controversial by fans of Taylor Swift. Bryan, known for his support of the Philadelphia Eagles, made a statement late on Tuesday comparing the Eagles favorably over the Kansas City Chiefs and Kanye West over Taylor Swift, asking rhetorically for supporters with “who’s with me” in a since-deleted post dated September 17, 2024.

The tweet drew a swift negative reaction, particularly from Taylor Swift’s ardent fan base, the Swifties. Bryan clarified the following day that his tweets were made in a “drunken” state after listening to a track from Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.” He admitted that the comparison was not meant to disrespect Swift and expressed admiration for her work in music.

In an attempt to rectify the situation, Bryan took to Instagram with a heartfelt apology. Accompanied by audio from another Swift song, Bryan emphasized that his comments were musical comparisons made under the influence of alcohol and not meant to diminish Swift’s contributions. “I was projecting a bit,” Bryan explained, hinting at personal difficulties he was experiencing at the time of the tweet.

Despite his explanations and apologies, Bryan decided that a break from social media was necessary, citing that Twitter often lands him “in trouble.” He assured fans that he respects Taylor Swift and values her music greatly, reinforcing that he has “a lot of stupid tweets” that should not be taken at face value.

Bryan resolved to “stay off” the platform and focus on his tour and personal grounding. He advised his followers against the pitfalls of mixing social media with alcohol with the warning: “Don’t drink and tweet!”
