Zooey Deschanel Jonathan Scott Manhattan Duplex Interior

NEW YORK, NY — Actor Zooey Deschanel and her fiancé Jonathan Scott, known for his role on HGTV‘s “Property Brothers,” recently revealed their stunning duplex in Manhattan. The couple showcased their unique home design in an interview with Architectural Digest published on October 8, 2025.

The couple’s home features a mix of bespoke and custom design elements, highlighting Deschanel’s penchant for vintage aesthetics and Scott’s expertise in home renovation. Their living room is adorned with floral upholstery, striped curtains, and a custom-designed rug that encapsulates their combined styles.

“He won’t stop until everything is perfect,” Deschanel shared with Architectural Digest. “And anything I can think of, he can execute,” she added, praising Scott’s thorough approach to home design.

Young Huh, the couple’s interior designer, explained the concept behind the decor. “The first thing they told me was, ‘Nothing modern. We want a sense of history and we love color,’” Huh stated, noting the Georgian-inspired elements throughout the duplex.

The apartment, dating back to the early 1900s, initially appeared as a raw structure when Deschanel and Scott first viewed it in November 2019. “It was totally raw and stripped down, like an abandoned 1980s office building,” Scott recalled. With Scott’s renovation skills, the duplex transformed into a cozy and stylish home filled with character.

The interior boasts antique and custom furniture, including a floral Bottega Veneziana chandelier hanging above a dining table surrounded by antique chairs. The couple incorporated elements such as deep purple velvet upholstery and intricate crown molding, emphasizing their shared appreciation for detail and history.

“What we’ve created is a space that feels lived in and comfortable but also elegant,” Deschanel explained, further highlighting their aim to blend modern comforts with classic charm.

The family room features a fireplace, and multiple recessed bookshelves. The couple’s commitment to creating a kid-friendly yet stylish environment for Deschanel’s two children, Elsie and Charlie, is also evident, with a playful kids’ room outfitted with bunk beds.

Although the Manhattan duplex serves as a part-time residence, Deschanel and Scott look forward to entertaining and enjoying their personalized space. Together, in their East Coast pied-à-terre, they continue to merge their lives and design sensibilities.

This feature on their duplex is set to appear in the November issue of Architectural Digest, showcasing a successful collaboration that highlights both their styles.
