Microsoft Enhances Xbox UI with Customization Features for Users

REDMOND, Wash. — Microsoft is enhancing the Xbox Home UI with new customization features requested by users, allowing players to tailor their gaming experience. This update will be available to Xbox Insiders starting this week.
Principal Software Engineering Lead Eden Marie announced that users will soon have the ability to pin up to three recently played games or apps directly to their home screen. “These pins will stay near the front of the list as you launch other things, giving you quick access to your go-to titles,” Marie explained.
The update also lets users hide system apps, like Netflix and Microsoft Edge, to create a more personalized interface. Another option allows players to adjust the number of visible tiles in the recently played section, reducing clutter and enhancing the appearance of their Xbox dashboard.
Marie highlighted that the changes are in direct response to user feedback. “We’ve heard from many of you that Home should feel more like your space,” she said. Users can already see the benefits of repurposed spaces for backgrounds and quick access to games from a previous UI overhaul launched in 2023.
Although the new options are rolling out to Insiders, Microsoft has not yet specified when they will be available to all Xbox users, but the company expects a gradual rollout in the coming weeks.
