Severe Weather Causes Flooding and Heavy Traffic in Norman

NORMAN, Oklahoma – Heavy traffic and flooded roads were reported near Flood Avenue and Tecumseh Road as severe weather moved through the area on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Storm chaser Brandon Pennel monitored conditions from the intersection and noted rapid movement in the cloud base toward the southwest. While no tornado has been visually confirmed, Pennel observed a distinct mesocyclone, which indicates organized rotation within the storm system.

Local residents are advised to remain alert as conditions may develop further. Emergency responders are on standby as they assess the impact of the weather in the affected areas.
