Brian Rolapp Named New CEO of PGA Tour

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida – The PGA Tour announced today that Brian Rolapp has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Rolapp, who has over 20 years of experience with the National Football League (NFL), will officially begin his role later this summer.
The PGA Tour CEO Search Committee, which included prominent figures such as Arthur M. Blank, Tiger Woods, and Jay Monahan, unanimously recommended Rolapp for the position. He previously served as the NFL’s Chief Media and Business Officer, where he was instrumental in transforming the fan experience and securing substantial media agreements.
Commissioner Jay Monahan, who will transition his responsibilities to Rolapp, expressed excitement about the appointment. “Brian is the perfect choice for the next chapter of the PGA Tour,” Monahan said. “His expertise and vision will strengthen our leadership team as we evolve the TOUR.”
Rolapp expressed gratitude and commitment to his new role. “I’m honored to join the PGA Tour at such a pivotal time,” he stated. “The TOUR represents the highest level of golf, and I believe deeply in its mission to grow.”
During his tenure with the NFL, Rolapp oversaw significant growth in media rights and partnerships, crafting deals with major networks like ESPN and NBC. His leadership skills are expected to help the PGA Tour navigate upcoming challenges, including media contract negotiations set to unfold in 2031.
As he prepares for his transition, Rolapp emphasized the importance of players and fans in the TOUR’s future. He aims to respect golf’s traditions while also adapting to the changing landscape. “Players are central to everything we do,” he remarked.
Monahan acknowledged the significance of this leadership change, noting the momentum the TOUR has gained in recent years. Rolapp’s arrival comes at a time when the PGA Tour is exploring ways to strengthen its position in the sports industry amid ongoing competition.
In a statement, Rolapp highlighted his eagerness to engage with TOUR players and fans. “I cannot wait to meet every one of our players and get in touch with as many fans as possible,” he said. “We have incredible opportunities ahead.”
