WORCESTER, MA — Country music fans prepare for a special night as Chris Janson, a singer-songwriter from Missouri, is set to perform in Worcester this summer. The concert, in celebration of his new album ‘Wild Horses,’ takes place at Off The Rails on August 29.

‘Wild Horses,’ which released on August 1, showcases Janson’s storytelling abilities and is inspired by real-life experiences. Janson shared that writing songs like ‘Me & A Beer’ is a challenge he embraced after his wife, Kelly, encouraged him to create feel-good music.

During a recent interview, Janson explained how he drew inspiration from his audience. ‘I wanted to write something that reflects the everyday working class hero,’ he said. The energy he witnesses in crowds, enjoying time off with friends over beers, influenced the writing of the song.

One of his favorite tracks from the album is ‘Hunting Season,’ a poignant song inspired by a tragic moment. Last September, he received a call from a friend in Florida asking him to perform at a funeral. ‘As we walked to the graveside, my friend said, ‘This is going to be my hardest hunting season.’ I took that title for the song,’ Janson recalled.

Janson also highlighted the role of his wife in his music. Kelly helped co-write the title track and is featured in the song ‘The Broken.’ They recently celebrated 15 years of marriage, during which Janson allowed her to keep her last name, leading to some confusion among fans.

The singer emphasizes the importance of family, sharing that he and Kelly prioritize their children’s lives. Their two bonus kids are thriving, and he enjoys engaging in activities such as fishing with them, a passion he inherited from his grandmother.

Janson’s journey to stardom began in honky tonks across Nashville, where he developed his hustling skills. ‘I learned to connect with patrons and play what they wanted to hear,’ he said, recalling nights where he received tips as large as $5,000.

In addition to his music career, Janson made significant lifestyle changes over the past year. He quit caffeine and sodas after struggling with health issues and now focuses on maintaining his well-being. ‘I want to live as long as I can,’ he stated firmly.

Catch Chris Janson live in Worcester on August 29, where he will perform new hits along with fan favorites. The concert at Off The Rails starts at 7 p.m. and promises to be a memorable night for country music enthusiasts.
