Andruw Monasterio Winning Run Brewers Cardinals

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — The Milwaukee Brewers pulled off a thrilling 9-8 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in the tenth inning on Saturday. Andruw Monasterio drove in the winning run, securing the Brewers’ 11th walk-off win of the season at American Family Field.

Caleb Durbin tied the game with an RBI double earlier in the tenth, scoring after Monasterio’s single capped a 10-pitch at-bat against Cardinals reliever Kyle Leahy. Abner Uribe earned the win for the Brewers after allowing the tenth-inning run but not giving up any hits.

The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with the Brewers trailing by five runs entering the sixth inning. William Contreras led the comeback effort with three RBIs, including an infield single that fueled a three-run rally in the ninth. Sal Frelick added two RBIs as Milwaukee rallied to tie and ultimately win the game.

On the other side, St. Louis’ Ivan Herrera highlighted his performance with a home run, contributing to a three-hit night. The Cardinals have now lost five consecutive games, struggling to find their rhythm this late in the season.

The Brewers also officially clinched a postseason berth following the New York Mets‘ loss to the Texas Rangers earlier in the day. This marks their seventh postseason appearance in eight years.

Milwaukee’s strong performance continues as they look to solidify their position heading into the playoffs.
